Choosing your Bridesmaids
There are no people who have to be in the Wedding Party unless
you want them to be. Don't feel pressured by family (or friends)
to include people. Choose the ones you are closest to and want to
have as a part of the process.
Most people are close to their siblings, especially sisters. If
you are close to your sister, she should not only be included, but
consider having her as your Maid (or Matron) of Honor. After all,
she is your sister and who could be better than her?
After you go through your immediate family, be sure to consider
your extended family such as cousins, second cousins, etc. If you
are close to your family, and you have only a few female cousins
you see often, consider having them all in the wedding. Be sure
to think of your Future Husband's side when choosing. If he has
a sister, you should consider having her on your side.
Next, go through your list of friends. If you have a lot of friends,
be sure to think carefully if you aren't going to include all of
them. There are some friends that just aren't responsible enough
to be in the Wedding Party.
If you have a guy-friend who is your absolute best friend and you
can't imagine getting married without him taking part, he can stand
up for you. In fact, it is now acceptable to have a guy stand in
place of your Maid (or Matron) of Honor.
Be sure that when you pick, you consider the responsibilities of
Bridesmaids. Occassionally, they will have to help monatarily and
with decision making. They will also possibly have to help with
all the running around looking at flowers, dresses, reception halls,
etc.
Happy Choosing!
